Association of Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness International, Rivers State Team, carried out its first maiden project at Rivers State College of Health and Environmental Management Sciences, Port Harcourt , Rivers State on the 8th of August 2020. A journey that has focus on its mission does not succumb to obstructions. Being the maiden project of the Rivers State chapter of A-HSEAI, success did not come easy but with perseverance, team work and determination, we prevailed. This tells us a lot as regards to future endeavors. It was a great success.
The event kicked off after proper precautionary measures were put in place.
The objective of the program was to decontaminate the school of microbes , and getting ready for resumption . This project also helped to foster a working relationship between the authorities of the College and AHSEAI in order to create an enabling environment for the organization to carry out future activities with ease, and also generate awareness for the organization.
A-HSEAI, observed all covid 19 instructions during the project. The participants were all screened on arrival by our medical team. Hand sanitizers were also provided and was ensured that participants got their hands sanitized.
In response, the provost of the School, through the Dean of Environmental Studies Mr. Mbato thanked the association for embarking on the sensitization and decontamination project and a letter of appreciation was given by the school.
Being the maiden project executed, we have managed to demonstrate that we are a serious organization with clear goals and plans, establish a working relationship with a reputable institution and formally issue Certificate of decontamination to the institution.This has helped to Publicize the organization, recruit new volunteers and familiarize with members of the organization.
